    sukzessive wieder einfügen und testen bis das der übeltäter gefunden wurde

      du hast eine (partielle) html-datei erzeugt, jedoch keine css-datei!

      lese noch einmal bei selfhtml nach, wie man css in dateien auslagerst.

        Kommentare können bleiben, du musst nur, wie wahsaga schon richtig geschrieben hat <STYLE TYPE="text/css"> und </STYLE> entfernen.

          nein, die derzeit verwendeten kommentare können nicht bleiben, weil das html-kommentare sind, die haben in einer externen css-datei nichts zu suchen.

          kommentare in css schreibt man so: /* kommentar */.

            Die Kommentare können bleiben, da sie einzig dazu dienen, dass Browser die nicht CSS-fähig sind, den Inhalt von <style> bis </style> nicht darstellen.

              wir reden von zwei verschiedenen dingen.

              deine antwort ist richtig, wenn die css-angaben mit <style> direkt in die html-datei eingebunden werden.

              ich spreche aber von dem fall, dass das css in einer externen datei ausgelagert ist - und so ist m.e. auch die eingangsfrage zu verstehen, da dort schliesslich von einer "css-datei" die rede war ...

                  Gut, ich will mich deswegen nicht streiten. ...allerdings ist es so, dass es keinen Unterschied macht, ob <!-- . . . --> am Anfang und Ende steht; beides funktioniert bei mir.

                    dass die tatsache, dass es auf dem von dir verwendeten system mit dem von dir verwendeten browser eventuell trotzdem funktioniert, noch lange nicht bedeutet, dass es deshalb auch korrekt ist, düfte aber wohl einleuchtend sein. (und dies war ja wohl auch der eigentliche grund für diesen thread, dass eine nicht korrekte syntax im netscape eben nicht funktioniert hat ...)
